Learning Carleton Sheets

Carleton H. Sheets started his life in Illinois with his parents and younger brother but was soon moving to Ohio when his father was transferred. At the age of ten Carleton decided to earn some money by mowing lawns and delivering newspapers in his local neighborhood. To do this he needed a lawnmower and a bicycle but did not have the funds for them. He borrowed the money from his mother and paid her back with the earnings from his ventures.

After college, he accepted a position with Armstrong Cork Company and moved from California to North Carolina to Georgia during his eight years of employment there. He also got married and had two children. Soon after, Carleton went to work for Lykes Pasco Packing Company based in Florida as their Director of Marketing. He stayed there for two years but his lack of experience made his tenure there unsuccessful and he was ultimately fired.

From there he began investing in real estate, starting with a no money down investment in an apartment building. He took on two partners for the venture who put up all the cash necessary. After a short time the building was refurbished and sold at a profit with the proceeds being split three ways. This was his first professional foray into creative financing and he found it was highly successful and he had a knack for putting together such deals. After several years and hundreds of rental units, his reputation in the world of real estate investing was solid.

From his experience with investing basics and creative financing he began to teach others his secrets. He taught at the local community level, wrote courses and began his series of home study programs. Carleton H. Sheets is probably most well known for his best selling program No Down Payment. However, he also has published other books, video programs and audio tools to help the public learn about real estate and investment strategies. Over three million copies of his programs have been sold in America alone.

The success of this program is attributed to Carleton’s knowledge as well as the lucrative partnership with the Professional Education Institute who helped market the program. He has the longest running infomercial in history, has appeared on TV and radio, has been featured in publications and has even been invited to consult with congress on real estate issues.

Recently, his courses have been converted into a completely free online course that can be taken from the comfort of home at your own pace. Consumers can benefit from Carleton’s expertise on real estate investing with no risk. Now semi retired, Carleton Sheets still takes some of his time to pursue investing opportunities and write to assist those interested in pursuing a real estate career.
